Andrew Hurst

Andrew Hurst studied at the Royal College of Music for 10 years, starting at age 12, obtaining his teaching qualifications and Degree over this time. He brings 25 years of teaching experience to CJMS, having worked for Enfield Arts Support Service, Thurrock, Essex, and Southend Music Services, with lessons ranging from early years to late-life adults. His teaching is student-based and aims to bring out full self-motivation from all learners, following their interests and encouraging a wide-range of approaches. His own performing has included Early Music CDs and tours, an EP recorded in London with an Indie band, guitar concertos and solo recitals of classical guitar and lute repertoire. Various CDs are due to be launched, including a more contemporary style album.

Chloe Jordan

Chloe is a professional singer, specializing in classical and musical theatre and also including rock, pop and jazz. She graduated from the University of Chichester in 2015, achieving a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Music. She has four years experience teaching, including the Sussex Academy of Music (2015) and now teaches voice at Appleford School in Shrewton. She achieved her grade 8 in piano and singing by the age of 18 and went on to discover new music ventures including writing her own songs. Her passion for music in film and musicals lead to her studying and writing music using Logic and Sibelius. She now writes songs for Elite Racing UK.

Tony James

Tony is well known for his accompaniment skills and often plays for local music groups around Wiltshire including the Trowbridge Operatic Society and Devizes White Horse opera. If you are looking for an accompanist for concerts or exams Tony is the perfect player.  Not only is he a skilled pianist he is a viola and violin teacher at the school and plays regularly in sounding orchestras including the Fulltone Orchestra and the Trowbridge Symphonic Orchestra.

Suzanne Metcalfe

Suzanne has taught piano for 35 years and has been successful in helping those to enjoy the piano for pleasure and to attain high standards in Associated Board exams and GCSE performance.

She tailors each lesson to the individual making it interesting and enjoyable so that when the lesson is finished, the student will continue to explore the music and come back to the next lesson having reached achievable goals. Each student has different aims and aspirations and Suzanne helps each of them reach their potential in an enjoyable way.

Simon Small

Simon has toured the UK and Europe as a session drummer for the past ten years, touring with internationally acclaimed bands. In 2012 and 2013 he was nominated in the Drummer of the year category at the British Blues Awards. He now studies music therapy at UWE in Bristol while teaching drums privately.

Qualifications:

A HND with Distinction in Contemporary Music Performance (Drums) from the Academy of Contemporary Music (2004).

A-levels in Music and Music Technology.

Currently studying an MA in Music Therapy at The University of the West of England, Bristol.

Will Blake

After qualifying from the Institute of Modern Music in Bristol in 2013, Will has lead and managed his own professional function band called the Will Blake Band and is the leader of the choir organisation called "PSG choirs" with over 120 members. Will specialises in Blues, Rock and Roll and Boogie Woogie styles on the piano.
